ABOUT ME

Ilenia Lanari artist

"You can only change the world if you change the way you perceive it."

My name is Ilenia Lanari. I grew up in the multicultural South Tyrol in Italy and I chose Lake Constance as my place of residence.
I've always been lucky enough to live in wonderful cities like Rome or Venice, where art is everywhere, not just museums. My love for design, the desire to furnish rooms and create design objects myself, was born when I was studying architecture in Venice, where I lived just a stone's throw from the Galerie dell`Accademia and the Guggenheim Museum.
Drawing and design also accompanied me in my five-year training at the Grand Chic School for Fashion and Design in Verona, where I was trained in fashion design and women's tailoring.
During my studies at the free art academy in Überlingen and in numerous painting courses with renowned artists at home and abroad, I perfected my painting and drawing techniques, my knowledge of image design and color composition and my personal expression.
All of my experiences flow into my pictures and the art objects that I create. I have always been curious about the elements that characterize the complexity of life and the theories that describe the meaning of life from an existential point of view. In my artistic reflections, I am often inspired by systems theory and constructivism. Both theories played a major role in my studies at the Universities of Verona and Freiburg.
For me, the only way to change the world is to change the way you perceive it. Art as a creative act is above all a form of communication and seems to me predestined to promote exactly that and to invite the use of interdisciplinary principles and multiple perspectives.
